Annyeong! It's Yul. Want to start watching K-dramas, but don't know where to begin? Here are seven dramas I'd recommend to any beginner.

Number one. Crash Landing on You. A South Korean heiress paraglides into North Korea by accident. Romance, comedy, and tears. A perfect first drama.

Number two. Goblin, also called Guardian: The Lonely and Great God. A nine-hundred-year-old goblin is looking for his bride. Beautiful scenes and a legendary soundtrack.

Number three. Reply 1988. Five families in one Seoul alley in the late 1980s. It's slow, warm, and it will make you call your parents.

Number four. Extraordinary Attorney Woo. A brilliant young lawyer on the autism spectrum who loves whales. Smart and heartwarming.

Number five. Squid Game. If you like thrillers, this is the show that made the whole world talk about Korean dramas.

Number six. Itaewon Class. A young man opens a small bar in Seoul and fights a giant food company. A revenge and success story.

Number seven. Mr. Sunshine. A historical drama set around 1900, about Korea's fight to stay independent. Epic and emotional.

Yul's tip! Most K-dramas have just one season of about sixteen episodes, so they have a real ending. And don't skip the opening songs, called OSTs. Half the fun of K-dramas is the music. Which one will you start tonight?
