Annyeong, yeoreobun! It's Yul from KVIBE IDOLS. Today let's visit a quiet, beautiful place near Seoul. Siheung Gaetgol Eco Park.
Gaetgol means a tidal creek. Here, sea water comes deep inland twice a day through a winding creek. It's one of the few inland tidal creeks in Korea.
This area used to be a big salt farm. People made salt by drying sea water in flat ponds under the sun. Today you can still see old salt storage houses, and in some seasons you can watch how sea salt is made.
In autumn, the park turns gold. Tall reeds and silver grass wave in the wind, and there's a pink field of flowers too. Walk on the wooden paths and you feel like you're in a painting.
Climb the tall wooden observation tower. It sways a little in the wind, so hold on! From the top you can see the creek, the reeds and the whole wetland.
Watch for crabs in the mud and birds on the water. It's a great place for families and slow walks.
Yul's tip! Go late in the afternoon in October for the golden reeds. And there's a Gaetgol festival in autumn. Have a nice walk!
