Korean BBQ Guide고기구이 · gogi-gui

What is it?

Korean BBQ (gogi-gui) means grilling meat at your table: pork belly (samgyeopsal), marinated ribs (galbi), bulgogi, beef cuts or Jeju black pork, eaten in lettuce wraps with free side dishes and usually soju or beer.

How to eat it

  1. Order at least 2 servings of one cut, then add more.
  2. Staff often grill and cut; at self-grill places, turn the meat once.
  3. Pour drinks for others, not yourself; turn your head slightly when drinking with elders.
Typical price
₩15,000–20,000 per pork serving; beef more
