Annyeong, yeoreobun! Yul here, in Seongsu-dong, Seoul's trendy old-factory neighborhood. That building is home to Cube Entertainment, the agency of i-dle and NOWZ. And Cube's story is a real comeback drama.

In 2006, Hong Seung-sung, the former president of JYP Entertainment, started his own company with Shin Jung-hwa. In 2009, two groups debuted: the girl group 4Minute and the boy group BEAST. Both became stars, and Cube was flying high.

Then, the plot twist. In 2016, 4Minute disbanded, and at the end of the year BEAST left the company. They had brought in a huge share of Cube's sales. That same year, Cube moved from Cheongdam to this building in Seongsu. People wondered: can Cube survive?

The answer came in 2018. A new girl group debuted, led by Soyeon, a rapper who writes and produces many of their songs herself. In 2024, all five members renewed their contracts, and in May 2025, on their seventh anniversary, the group dropped the G from its name and became simply i-dle. In 2026, they opened their Syncopation world tour at Seoul's KSPO Dome, and Soyeon released her first full-length solo album. Daebak!

Yul's tip! Take Line 2 to Seongsu Station, Exit 1. It's only about three minutes on foot. A photo of the building from the street is perfect. But please don't block the entrance, don't wait for artists, and never follow their cars. People work here every day.
